The Canadian Government operates a full-service visa office in New Delhi serving the region of India, Bhutan, and Nepal. Our office treats applications for persons wishing to come to Canada to visit, study, work, and live.

Effective March 9, 2005, the Canadian High Commission will be using the services of VFS Visa Application Centers in nine cities across India to ease the application process for temporary visas -- visitors, students, and workers as well as travel documents for permanent residents.

Applicants can make their submission to an application center in New Delhi, Jalandhar, Chandigarh, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bangalore or Kolkata instead of standing in line at the High Commission in New Delhi or the Consulate General in Chandigarh. Applicants residing outside of those cities will no longer have to travel to New Delhi or Chandigarh (except in the small percentage of cases where an interview is required) or rely on mail, travel agents or messengers to submit applications.
